Assistant Aquatics Director

Mercedes Lanman

Mercedes is a Middle School Language Arts Teacher .  During her academic career she has swim coached club teams with Chicago Athletic Clubs, Northwestern University’s NASA Wildcats, and Lake Forest High School’s Scouts. Her diverse experience ranges from water safety personnel at country and athletic club pools throughout the Chicagoland area to the Great Lakes Naval Base. Always looking to challenge herself and pursue athleticism, she currently trains and competes in Triathlons in the area. Alongside her training, she has combined her love for working around water with her dedication to community safety by serving in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as a Crew member. Thrilled to be able to bring her skills and experience to the Lake Forest Club community, she is committed to maintaining an organized team of staff ready to serve and respond. Her hopes for her swimmers match her philosophy working with students: to facilitate experiences that trigger curiosity, demand motivation, and breed bravery and determination to take risks and reach goals. She’ll be found on deck! See you there.

Welcome : Breanna Haak

For those of you who haven’t seen me around the pool deck within the last few years, my name is Breanna Haak and I am excited to announce my return back to LFC for the 2020 summer season! I have been lucky enough to work at LFC for two consecutive seasons making this upcoming season my third. In my time at the club, I have been able to serve in a number of roles including as a lifeguard, head lifeguard, and recently as a coach for the 11-14 year olds. My favorite part of the job is being able to grow so close to LFC’s members and see the growth that the club has accomplished in the short span of two years. One of my favorite quotes now is Seize the day, or the day will seize you. With this in mind, take joy in this unexpected time with family and I look forward to seeing you all this season! If you need to reach me, feel free to by sending me an email to brejhaak@gmail.com
