Junior Programs:
2010 AFTER SCHOOL SPRING TENNIS
After school spring tennis will be available for all children beginning Monday, April 12th. The session will run for eight weeks until June 4th. Classes will be offered Monday through Thursday from 4:00-5:00 p.m. for 4-8 year olds, and from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. for 9 years old and above. Junior Excellence will meet from 4:00-6:00 p.m.on Monday, and Thursday. Please sign up for the entire session. If unable to attend on particular dates, and/or in case of inclement weather*, make-ups can be arranged with Eric Moran. Session fees are not refundable. Session fees are as follows: Regular Session (1 time per week $184.00) Jr. Excellence (2 hour 1 time session) $368.00 (There is a 10% multi-child discount)
*Inclement weather is determined at class time. Parents can call the Pro Shop to check class cancellations and schedule make up classes. The Lake Forest Club has the best courts on the North Shore and they are generally ready for play 15 - 20 minutes after it rains.

PEE WEES-"Big Ball equivalent"(AGES 4-6)
Session 1 (June 7 - July 18); Session 2 (July 19 - Aug 22); Session 3 (Aug 23 - Oct 17)
This clinic is designed to focus on hand-eye coordination and lots of fun. The little ones will learn the basics and have a great time. Pressureless and foam ball will be used. This group is for 4 to 6 year olds and meets Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Session one is six weeks in duration. Session two is five weeks in duration. Session three is eight weeks in length. STARS-"Rookie Rallier equivalent" (AGES 7-9)

This group focuses on basic technique of every stroke. Juniors will have fun playing tennis games to develop their strokes and skills to help them rally and play points with other players. The Stars group meets Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Session one is six weeks in duration. Session two is five weeks in duration. Session three is eight weeks in duration. The Excellence Group will meet each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Session one is six weeks in duration. Session two is five weeks in duration. TOURNAMENT CAMP
This camp is for tournament aspiring kids, and will be a more time intensive program. This camp will incorporate Wednesday and Friday leagues during their respective schedules.
Class time will be used for stretching, conditioning, stroke production, match play and incorporate the "Games-based approach" to development. Juniors must participate in at least one tournament a year and receive Eric's approval to be considered for this program. There will only be 16 spots available for any one week. A "senior pro" will run this program.
The camp will meet Monday through Thursday from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and Friday from noon - 3:00 p.m. You can sign up for one week at a time. Tournament Camp schedule is:

TRAVEL TEAM
This program is a great way for juniors to get match play experience! All Lake Forest Club junior tennis players that are able to serve are invited to play on the junior travel team. In May and early June, the team will be competing against other clubs in the area in singles and doubles play. The schedule of the matches will be posted on the junior tennis bulletin board out by the courts. During the months of June and July, our team will be participating in The North Suburban Junior Club League and the North Shore Grand Prix League. The matches for the North Suburban Junior Club Leagues are held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The North Shore Grand Prix League matches are held on Friday from Noon - 2:30 p.m. All junior team matches will be attended by a member of the tennis staff to coach and assist The Lake Forest Club junior players.
North Suburban Junior Club League (June 16 through August 4), Wednesdays, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Fee: $145.00 includes t-shirt.
North Shore Grand Prix League (June 18 through July 23), Fridays, Noon - 2:30 p.m. Fee: $125.00 t-shirt optional.
GRAND PRIX LEAGUE
Each Sunday(and some Saturdays) from 3:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m., juniors are invited to compete in supervised singles and doubles play against other Lake Forest Club juniors of similar ability. Juniors will be coached during their matches to focus on strategy and the mental aspects of match play. All Lake Forest Club junior players that are able to serve are invited to participate in this program. Players receive points for attendance and for sets won. Awards for the top point finishers will be presented at the Junior Banquet in August. The fee is $21.00 per two hour session attended. Standings from the league each week will be posted on the junior tennis bulletin board out by the courts.
USTA TOURNAMENT PROGRAM
During the summer, a member of The Lake Forest Club tennis staff will take those interested juniors to USTA tournaments in the Chicago area. This program is geared toward the more advanced player. Players will receive coaching at the tournament and transportation if needed. The fee for this program will vary per tournament. The fee will include tournament entry fees, transportation fees, food expenses and coaching fees.The four tournaments that are included in this program will be announced when the USTA summer tournament schedule becomes available.

Join your fellow junior program participants for an afternoon of tennis games and competition at the courts. There will be prizes for everyone and fun! Tennis will be held on Saturday, May 22. Ages 4 and up are welcome. Players will be separated by age groups. The fee is $21.00 per player.
JUNIOR NIGHT OUT
This program is designed for Juniors ages 6-16. Match play, games, and pizza are the main attractions. Fun will be emphasized. Guests are welcome. Program will be held on Saturday nights (May 14, June 18, July 30 & September 3) 6:00-9:00pm. The fee is $30.00 per person.
MEMORIAL DAY PARENT/CHILD ROUND ROBIN
Parents, pair up with your son and daughter, and play against the other Lake Forest Club parents and their children on Sunday, May 30th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. Juniors must be able to serve. Eric will group you according to ability. Awards will be presented to the top finishing juniors in their flight. The fee is $15.00 per player.
JUNIOR FIESTA PINATA
Juniors of all ages and levels are invited to participate in non-competitive drills, games and social play in a festive, fun-filled atmosphere from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5th. The highlight of the day will be the breaking of the pinata with prizes for everyone! The fee is $18.00 per child. Coordinated at the same time as the Adult Mixer.
JUNIOR PRO AM

FATHER'S DAY PARENT/CHILD ROUND ROBIN
Sunday, June 20, parents, pair up with your son or daughter and play against the other Lake Forest Club parents and their children from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. Juniors must be able to serve. Teams will be grouped according to ability. Awards will be presented to the top finishing juniors in each flight. The fee is $15.00 per player. Enjoy the family fun!
JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
This is The Lake Forest Club junior tennis tournament. Juniors can sign up to play singles, doubles, and/or mixed doubles in the 11 and under "junior" division or the 12 years and up "senior" division. All juniors are guaranteed at least two matches. Dates for the championships are: Saturday, June 12 and Saturday, July 31. The sign up deadline is May 9th. Players will have a deadline to play each match. The fee is $18.00 per player, per event entered. Trophies will be awarded at the Junior Tennis Banquet. The winners' names will be engraved on the plaques hanging year round in the clubhouse.
FIRECRACKER PARENT/CHILD ROUND ROBIN
Come out to the courts on June 26th for round robin with your son and daughter. Play will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. Juniors must be able to serve. You will be grouped according to your ability. Awards will be presented to the top finishing juniors in their flight. The fee is $15.00 per player. Have a happy Fourth!
JUNIOR WORLD TEAM TENNIS
This is an afternoon of prizes, fun and competition! Juniors are assigned to teams representing countries. Players of equal ability compete against each other and other teams. The emphasis is on fun and teamwork as each team member is always involved playing or cheering a teammate on to victory. Play will be held on July 17th from 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. This event is for all ages and levels, although players must be able to serve. The fee is $30.00 per player.
JUNIOR LUAU TENNIS BEACH PARTY
This social is designed for juniors of all ages and levels. The party includes fun games and activities. Some of the activities are non-tennis related. The party will coincide with the Hawaiian Luau adult mixer on July 10th. Come join us for this afternoon party for the entire family. Party time 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. The fee is $18.00 per person. Coordinated at the same time as the Adult Mixer.
END OF SUMMER TENNIS CAMP
Not going out of town? Join us for Tennis Camp, Monday through Friday, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Ages 6 - 12 (open to all abilities). Sign up for a weekly session.
